First day at school
August 29, 2005 on 11:05 pm | In Life, School |Today was my first real day at school, with lessons and all.
Pretty nice. The move from High School to College is quite a big one. The teachers are far more relaxed. And having a laptop with wireless internet is cool, too…
Today’s lesson was about Web Development. Quite simple, and everybody apart from 3 people actually had experience with writing pages and all the protocols. The teacher gave us a quick tour around the stuff that happens when you request a webpage, which was on one hand nothing new and on the other hand still kind of informative.
After that we had to split up in groups of 2, choose a media file format and create a 5-10 minute presentation about the file’s history, use, pros and cons, etc. Me and a classmate chose the MIDI file format.
Tomorrow would be about Embedded Applications, but because the schedule was a bit unlogical (heck, I can’t blame them, they had to make schedules for 300 new students) those will not continue tomorrow. For some reason the current roster would have us do a practical assignment first and get the theory after that. But like I said, the teacher just called off tomorrow’s lessons, which means I have a day off
I like my new school quite a bit.

STOP IT! If you dare to speak ONE MORE word about your new school I will either go mad or flood the Netherlands(!!).
Your school sounds like a heavenly place. Oh I could really imagine myself running around with a fancy laptop, learning how to create professional websites and web applications … but no, I am still carrying my usual school bag around and, even if I hate it, I got to learn the most boring and most useless stuff you could think of.
Have fun Wacko, enjoy college … *envy*
PS: *more envy*

:-O
Flood it all you want, my town and school are above sea level. I’d be living near the shore!
Also, you must simply hang in there and then go to a cool school too and be 1337 like me. Myes.

Ok I’ll go and look for a cool school in my area that is different from all the other german schools … expect me to be back in, let’s say, 100 years? Maybe they changed the scholar system then.
