First day at school

Today was my first real day at school, with lessons and all.

Pretty nice. The move from High School to College is quite a big one. The teachers are far more relaxed. And having a laptop with wireless internet is cool, too…

Today’s lesson was about Web Development. Quite simple, and everybody apart from 3 people actually had experience with writing pages and all the protocols. The teacher gave us a quick tour around the stuff that happens when you request a webpage, which was on one hand nothing new and on the other hand still kind of informative.

After that we had to split up in groups of 2, choose a media file format and create a 5-10 minute presentation about the file’s history, use, pros and cons, etc. Me and a classmate chose the MIDI file format.

Tomorrow would be about Embedded Applications, but because the schedule was a bit unlogical (heck, I can’t blame them, they had to make schedules for 300 new students) those will not continue tomorrow. For some reason the current roster would have us do a practical assignment first and get the theory after that. But like I said, the teacher just called off tomorrow’s lessons, which means I have a day off :-)

I like my new school quite a bit.

Rubiks Cube Solver

Amazing what a person can find with google.

After someone showed me this image I googled for “world warcraft rubik’s cube”.

The “I feel lucky” result was this: Rubik’s cube solver done in Lego.

Cool.

Change of colors

While trying to think of a better, more personal header for this blog, I tried to just change the color levels of the image in Photoshop. This color looked pretty neat (kind of Ubuntu-ish which is always a good thing) so I decided to give it a shot. After I checked it out in the blog itself, I decided the links, which were originally blue, had to be changed as well, to a similar orange-ish color.

Tell me what you think about it!

SongMeanings

Well, I’m back from the 2 days of camp I had with my new school. I met my new classmates and it looks pretty cool so far; Nice people.

Anyhow, while looking for some A Perfect Circle lyrics today I came across SongMeanings, a website with Lyrics, but pretty much all the lyrics have comments below them from users that (usually) say what they think the song means, which is great in the case of A Perfect Circle because their lyrics are very cool but also a bit puzzling at times, in the sense that they’re quite deep :) Certainly a nice website, although some of the people who comment there are retards, but heck, that’s probably true for most websites :)

College!

Well, tomorrow (or technically, today) I shall be starting at my new school!

I shall have to get up at around 7:30 which is awefully early for me, not to mention that this is actually when school starts later than usual because it’s our introductory week :(

Oh well, I think it’ll be fun none the less.
Off to bed, then.

P.S.: Shout-out to Medic!

Quiet

And again a long period without me posting anything.
That’s what happens when all you do during a 3 month holiday is playing WoW.

Anyhow, some stuff has happened so I’ll talk about it, even though it’s not interesting.

2 days ago, that is Wednesday the 17th of August, I went and got a haircut. My hair was beginning to get in front of my eyes which is usually a sign for me that I have to get it cut. Now I have nice and short hair which is good because…

… Next monday I’m starting at my new school =) I’ll first have an introductory week, which includes a tour of the school and a 2 day (one night) camping trip! :o Sounds a bit childish but it might be fun anyhow.

Hmm.. Yes. That’s it really.
